Nancy Hayes joined San Francisco State University as Dean of the College of Business on August 1, 2005.
Nancy enjoyed a twenty year career at the IBM Corporation with a wide array of management and senior executive positions in the sales, marketing, consulting and services fields. Her last position was General Manager, Worldwide Operations, IBM Sales and Services, where she was responsible for the reengineering effort to restructure IBM to ensure consistent execution on a global basis. During her IBM career, Nancy lived in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Maine, Connecticut/New York and San Francisco.
Nancy left IBM in 1997 with the goal of bringing business and management skills and experiences to the nonprofit environment. For five and one half years, she was CEO of the STARBRIGHT Foundation in Los Angeles, an entrepreneurial nonprofit organization chaired by Steven Spielberg and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, which merged the worlds of technology, media/entertainment and healthcare to create innovative products and programs to help seriously ill children cope with the medical, emotional and behavioral challenges they face daily.
Subsequently, Nancy was President and CEO of WISE Senior Services, a social services agency which focuses on improving the quality of life and quality of care for low-income, isolated and frail elderly and disabled adults in Los Angeles County.
Nancy has an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
